I discovered my passion for photography in 2011, while I was an undergrad Psychology major at Austin College in Sherman, Texas. A friend on a junior year Spring Break trip asked if I wanted to try out their new camera. I’d never picked up a camera before, but I was game to give it a go. To my surprise, over the course of that week, with a borrowed camera, I discovered a passion for photography — a passion that I then pursued through elective film photography classes and working as a sports and event photographer for the Austin College student newspaper. Outside of class and work, I took my camera everywhere. When I finished my undergrad degree, I moved straight into a Master’s program in New Media Photojournalism at George Washington University’s Corcoran College of Art & Design. There, I honed the art of framing images to tell a story, convey a mood, or capture a feeling. I am grateful that I also found wonderful mentors in the portrait and event photography space who inspired, educated, and guided me.
Since completing my Master’s degree, my professional interests have remained focused on portrait and event photography. I am passionate about this area of photography because I enjoy connecting with people in a way that allows me to capture their unique personalities and stories not just how I see them, but the way they want to be seen. I also deeply appreciate the opportunity to share with them some of the most meaningful events of their lives.
I live in DC with my two wonderful sausage dogs, Zoë and Saxophone. My free time is spent watching Formula One on weekends, playing pub trivia with friends like it’s a religion, leaving snarky movie reviews on Letterboxd, and following new recipes maybe a little too strictly.
I HOPE TO GET TO KNOW AND WORK WITH YOU!

“There aren’t enough positive things to say about Steven and how good he is at photography. In addition to his skill and professionalism he is also an honest, sincere, and genuine person. He is the real deal and I am so grateful to have him for both business and personal photography.”
